Antara salah satu daripada lima istana besar, Gyeonghuigung Palace juga dikenali sebagai “Seogweol” (istana barat) kerana terletak di sebelah barat daripada istana utama iaitu Gyeongbokgung. Pada zaman kegemilangannya, istana ini adalah sebahagian daripada kompleks yang luas, mampu memuatkan 100 buah bangunan. Namun, kebanyakan bangunan telah musnah ketika zaman pendudukan Jepun. Setelah kerja-kerja pemulihan yang intensif dilakukan, ianya dibuka semula kepada orang awam pada tahun 2002. Di Gyeonghuigung Palace ini terdapat Seoul Museum of History dan Gyeonghuigung Annex Building dimiliki oleh Seoul Museum of Art. Pada awalnya, istana ini telah dibina atas arahan Raja gwanghae (raja ke-15 dalam Dinasti Joseon), dan siap dibina pada tahun 1623. Dari mula lagi, istana ini amat disayangi dan berfungsi sebagai istana kedua bagi 10 raja-raja Dinasti Joseon. Pelbagai seni Korea juga dapat dilihat di Gyeonghuigung Annex Building milik Seoul Museum of Art terletak di kawasan Gyeonghuigung. Selain itu, Seoul Museum of History merupakan salah satu daripada tarikan pelancong yang paling utama di bandar Seoul. Ia menempatkan koleksi kekal yang membolehkan para pengunjung untuk melihat perkembangan dan perubahan bandar Seoul dari zaman prasejarah hingga sekarang. Ayuh berkunjung ke Gyeonghuigung Palace untuk menyelami sejarah Seoul.

Barely a semblance left of its former glory but at least it's now free to enter
Apparently there was a time where this palace had well over 100 buildings. Nowdays there's really not much left to see.

This is one of the five royal palaces of the capital city of South Korea. It’s very interesting to visit and very beautiful for your eyes, but not very different from the other ones.

해설 진행 시 발생하는 안전사고에 대해서 도보관광 사무국과 서울문화관광해설사는 책임을 지지 않습니다.
미세먼지 비상저감조치 발령 및 기타 기상악화(폭염, 태풍, 폭우 등)로 인해 도보관광 운영이 어려운 경우 모든 예약은 일괄 취소됩니다. (관광일 전날 기준)

Additional reservations, one or two days before the tour starts, are only allowed for the tour that is already fixed.

Reservations for the following month are available from the 15th of the current month.
Please refrain from participating in any tour programs should you be experiencing any symptoms, including fever, coughing, congestion, muscle pain, stuffy nose, and/or sore throat.
Reservations for tourists 14 years & under without an accompanying adult or guardian shall be canceled on site.
